IOCOM has assembled an accomplished management team that has been executing and developing the IOCOM solutions business model. The team possesses backgrounds from leading technology, consulting, and financial services companies where they successfully delivered on large-scale commercial and federal projects and managed global sales portfolios.


Tim Hackett

CEO

Tim joined IOCOM as CEO in June 2011 bringing broad experience in start-up and rapid growth organizations that deliver cloud-based applications. Over the past 24 years he has implemented successful processes for Product Management, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Finance throughout the United States and Europe.

For the past decade, Tim has helped lead the field operations of several organizations that provide disruptive cloud-based alternatives to incumbent providers in the Enterprise storage and CRM application space such as Storage Networks, Gryphon Networks, and ForceLogix Technologies.

At ForceLogix, he helped the company triple its revenue and customer base which led to its acquisition in February 2011 by Callidus Software, the leading provider of sales performance management solutions for the enterprise. StorageNetworks had one of the leading IPOs of the past decade, growing to $126M in annual revenue in three short years. Earlier in his career, Tim spent many years at storage infrastructure pioneer EMC Corporation in multiple leadership roles as the now Fortune 200 company grew from $400 million in annual revenue to over $6 billion.

James Miller

EVP, Sales and Marketing

Jim is responsible for all aspects of IOCOM revenue generation including direct Sales, Marketing and Business Development. He has been with IOCOM since it was founded in 1998.

Jim has over 25 years experience in the Information Technology industry, both in sales and software development. As principal of a consulting firm for over 15 years, Mr. Miller managed sales accounts that exceeded $10 million dollars. He also serviced large corporate clients, including Ameritech, where he successfully managed implementation projects with budgets of over $50 million.

With widespread experience in all phases of software implementation, Jim’s background provides unique skills to designing complex multi-party video conferencing and visual collaboration solutions. This includes business process re-engineering, fit analysis, development of user requirements, system design and construction, testing, and pre- and post-implementation support.

Mr. Miller has a BS degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jon Swanson

Chief Technology Officer

With over 28 years of experience in computer networking, software development, hardware, and systems integration, Jon and his team have architected and implemented much of the Visimeet platform over the past decade. He is the inventor of seven issued IOCOM patents with over a dozen pending in the area of networked audio and video collaboration technologies and brings extensive experience in the areas of grid computing and cloud-based enterprise software.

Before joining IOCOM, Jon was the Northeast Regional VPN and Remote Access Specialist for 3Com Corporation. In this capacity he designed and implemented VPN solutions for carrier customers, assisted with the design and rollout of 3Com's corporate VPN access solution, and worked closely with major ISPs including AOL, Sprint, and UUNET. Prior to 3Com, he was a founder of JavaNet, a regional internet service provider that has since been purchased by RCN. Jon has extensive experience in software development, quality assurance, and publishing.

Jon received a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Gary Refka

VP, Customer Support and Operations

Director UK Sales and Support

Gary has a varied background in all aspects of customer service from direct support desk service, field engineering, sales/systems engineering as well as management positions for all. This background provides a unique vision of what the customer’s needs are and the best way to fulfill them.

Following 11 years of service in the US Air Force, Gary was one of a very small team that designed and built the Air Force Network (AFNet) based on state of the art TDM technologies. Once implemented, he was tapped to create and manage the Customer Assistance Center for AFNet to provide direct customer service to over 150 Air Force bases and tens of thousands of end users on the system. This successful and cost saving project was quickly expanded to all military services.

Gary also has held positions with multiple technology companies, including Network Equipment Technologies as the System Engineer Manager for the Midwest region, and NetReality as the Sales Engineer for Central US and Account Manager for Midwest. During this time he supported multiple Fortune 500 companies in all areas of service and sales, splitting time between cultivating new sales and establishing new service functions.

Gary holds multiple patents in VoIP telephony and has designed and implemented multiple service based software systems and IOCOM hardware products.

IOCOM builds advanced video collaboration software for some of the largest and most well regarded companies and educational institutions in the world. Our offices are located in the Loop on the corner of Jackson and Clark, in downtown Chicago Illinois. If you decide to come and work with us, we'll do our best to find you a comfortable workspace near a window, with plenty of room to spread out, and access to whatever computer equipment and software you need to get things done. You'll be given the opportunity to work with a smart and passionate team who focus every day on making our customers happy by striving to build the best video conferencing software available. We have a bias for action here and rely on each other to make an impact. On Friday afternoons, the office fridge is often fully stocked with some of the world’s finest fermented malt beverages and during the week it makes for a great place to store your lunch. We haven't built an on-site bowling alley yet but if and/or when we do, you'll likely receive a brand new pair of royal blue suede bowling shoes with our logo embossed on the side. We also provide insurance and paid vacation and all that fun stuff that everyone else offers.
