New Feature - Instant Email Invitations
In the latest Visimeet release, we built in an exciting new feature: Instant Email Invitations. Instant Email Invitations let you generate, from within your ongoing meeting, an email invitation that you can send to anyone that you'd like to join in your meeting.
And we really mean anyone. These email invitations include links for Visimeet users to join through their client, for users away from their Visimeet system to join through our web client, and for anyone to join by dialing in on a standard telephone. There are no restrictions on whom you can send these Instant Email Invitaitons, they don't have to be in your Contacts list or even be an existing Visimeet user.
We've put together a quick screencast to introduce you to using this new feature and show you how to use it:
If you meet with lots of different people via Visimeet, and can't always count on them being in your contacts list, we think you'll get great use from the Instant Email Invites feature. Let us know what you think. Send us any feedback or suggestions at visimeetfeedback@iocom.com.
Introductions
Last week was our very first one blogging here at IOCOM. We're just starting to get comfortable with the medium and, as we do, you should start seeing more content and more variety here.
This week, we'd like to introduce some of the people who will be showing up on the blog from time to time. Each has a unique perspective and will bring their own voices to the conversation.
As for me, my name is Jeremy. I'm one of the editors of this blog, as well as our Twitter stream. I'm also probably the right guy to talk to if you notice a typo on our website or in one of our emails to you. I'll (hopefully) be busy here keeping you abreast of IOCOM and Visimeet related news and developments. But, as I have time, I look forward to sharing with you some of my IOCOM and Visimeet related interests, including design, usability, and productivity.
Keep an eye out this week for introductions and thoughts from a few of my blogging colleagues. And please feel free to share your thoughts with us about the blog and what you might like to see here. We know it's a bit bare right now, but we hope to add more functionality soon, and integrate your feedback as much as possible.
IOCOM at ITExpo
IOCOM is going to be on the show floor at ITExpo this week in Miami, Florida. We'll be at booth 221, stop by and say hello.
On Friday morning, IOCOM EVP of Subscription & Hosted Services J.W. Penland will be on the panel "Taking Telepresence Beyond the Board Room," where he'll be talking about IOCOM's new Visimeet service.
An Exciting New Year for IOCOM
IOCOM is all about bringing people together. We think we've done a pretty good job at helping businesses, researchers, doctors and a great variety of other folks come together via IOCOM visual communication, but we'd also like to connect with more of our customers directly, get your feedback, develop stronger relationships, and find out how we can do even more to improve communication with the important people in your world. So, today, we're excited to launch our brand new company blog.
Welcome.
Creating a blog is something we've considered doing for quite a while. Now the time seems particularly right. It's a truly exciting time to be involved in the visual communications and video conferencing industries. More than ever, businesses are trying to find ways to be more efficient and productive, for less money, with less environmental impact. Other groups are starting to embrace video in new and exciting ways. IOCOM plans to be right there in the forefront of the revolution and we want you to hear all the news here first.
This week, along with the new blog, we'll be freshening up our website, posting some sharp new content to the site, going live on other social media, and, best of all, letting you know all about our next-generation visual communication platform: Visimeet.
Stay tuned.
