October 10, 2007 // San Diego, CA – IOCOM is proud to announce the availability of desktop High-Definition video for all laptops, desktops and even ultra mobile PC’s running Microsoft XP or Vista. IOCOM showcased the desktop HD video at the Internet2 Fall Members Meeting at the University of California at San Diego today at the event’s demo pavilion. IOCOM believes that this advanced feature is the first of its kind in the desktop video arena.
IOCOM EVP of Sales, Jim Miller, who manned the demo booth stated “the HD desktop system certainly raised some eyebrows at the event. Especially when I told them the camera that was being used only cost about $100.” Mr. Miller showcased both desktop and room based HD systems. The IOCOM solution can run multiple video codecs simultaneously and was also making use of standard definition codecs and cameras as well. Highlight another exclusive IOCOM feature, the room system and desktop systems connected seamlessly in multi-site meetings using various off the shelf USB and S-video cameras and other audio-visual gear.
